S. Korea...K-Drama's...Pt 2...
Be warned, life is not like in the Korean Drama's- Life in South Korea is not like in the K-drama's. I'm guessing most of you know that by now, but just thought I would clarify it ;)
Anyway, I will admit it, what got me interest in S.Korea were the drama's, yes, there I said it!
My first drama was " Hello, my Twenties" or " Age of youth" follows the live's of five girls. The story lines vary from a very hard working girl, who works up to 4 jobs to a girl who has her first college crush. Life in S Korea seemed so different than life anywhere I've lived. I know it's all meant to be taken with a pinch of salt but there were a few aspects of this drama that opened my eyes and my curiosity for it's county.
The 2nd is Strong Girl Bong Soon. This particular drama will have you laughing, to being a bit scared, to also feeling that cute lovey feeling. This was also the drama that opened my eyes to how cool S.Korean men look in anything! I also verified that the question I hear now everyday from some of my Korean friends " Have you eaten breakfast?'' is actually true in life and in drama's haha! The other thing I got into from Bong Soon was the music, and my favorite song 'Super Power Girl' by the very talented Actor/Singer Park Hyung-sik
Now on to the 3rd! The Heirs. The drama that made me discover two of my favorites. Kim Woobin and Lee Minho and also Kang Min-hyuk, Park Hyung-sik. So as you can see there's plenty of talent on that show, let's not forget Park Shin-hye. The show follows Park and Lee mainly along with a few other story lines of a priviledge high school. It touches on the subject of low and high class, of bullying, love, deception and a myriad of other things.
4th. My Secret Romance. With the very handsome Sung Hoon. This series really made me like him more. He shows a professional side, to a very sweet one. This drama is a true love story, and touches on the subject of a one night stand. This is the kind of drama you have to watch to really understand.
5th. Boys Over Flowers. The one drama that started it all, and it launched Lee Minho to stardom. This was one of the drama's that I had heard a lot about but since it was 'old' I didn't really want to watch it, till one of my friends insisted I should, so I did. You are in a hell of a ride with this drama. Most of the time you feel bad for Jan-Di the girl simply can't catch a break. Apart from that the music is quite catchy, especially Bang-bang boom and Stand by me.
6th. Something in the rain. Currently re-watching as I'm sure I missed a few things along the way. I think this series catches on a lot of very serious subjects, yet I don't want to discuss those, not yet, not on this post. I do want you to concentrate on the love story and how it develops, and how it just makes you smile when you see Joon-hee and Jin-ah fall in love. it's yet another love story but with 'problems' in the present.
SO yeah.. here you go a little introduction to my favorite K-drama's. The origin to my Korean-Obssesion.
Hope you watch and enjoy just as much!!
